Vocal Intensive 2026
Class examples:
Beginning Vocal Pedagogy (Grades 1–3)
Students participate in small group voice lessons focused on healthy warm-ups, breath support, and vocal technique. The class learns 1–2 songs in various genres, and students are encouraged to sing individually when comfortable.
Intermediate Vocal Pedagogy (Grades 4–7)
This small group voice class builds healthy vocal technique, including breath, posture, and alignment. Students receive individual feedback, learn one art song in another language, and prepare a “choice song” for auditions or festivals.
Advanced Vocal Pedagogy (Grades 8–12)
Designed for audition preparation, this small group class refines vocal technique and performance skills. Students receive individualized feedback and work in small ensembles on repertoire aligned with their developmental and audition goals.
Musicianship (Grades 1–5)
Students develop foundational music skills through reading, ear training, rhythm work, and singing games. Using a Kodály-based approach, students learn solfege and build strong melodic and rhythmic understanding.
Music Theory & Aural Skills 1 (Grades 6–8)
Students learn the fundamentals of music theory and ear training, including clefs, key signatures, rhythm, and simple meters. The class includes sight-singing, dictation, and deep listening to strengthen musical understanding.
Music Theory & Aural Skills 2 (Grades 9–12)
Building on foundational skills, students explore scales, modes, intervals, rhythm, chords, and basic analysis. Through sight-singing and ear training, they deepen their theoretical knowledge and musical fluency.
